Premier League Darts returns to our screens today with the world's best players ready to toe the line for a brand new season.
Exponents of the games tell us that competition is getting tighter and tighter these days in the PDC but it could be the beginning of a new guard in the long run. With Darts' unquestioned supremo being hit by Paul Nicholson in the recent Players' Championship final (10-9 perhaps we will see further improvements from those playing in the shadow of the likes of Phil Taylor, James Wade and Raymond Van Barneveld currently.
Fans of the sport will tell you that they have seen this before and that the cream will always rise to the top. However with more and more players achieving 'the nine-darter' one has t wonder how the best will be able to distinguish themselves much longer.
One Things is certain: the PDC's best still have points to prove.
