The Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys play a quick rematch in the NFC Wildcard game at Cowboys Stadium on Saturday night, as they met on this same field less than a week ago to end the regular season. That game was not a good one for the Eagles as they were shut out for the first time this season in a 24-0 defeat.
Heading into this week’s match-up, there could be a lot of overreaction to last week’s game. The Eagles won six straight before last week’s loss. They were fifth in the league in points scored and had been considered a real threat in the NFC.
The Cowboys also have a fearsome arsenal of attacking weapons. Quarterback Tony Romo has thrown for 26 touchdowns this season, while in Miles Austin they have the NFL’s leading wide receiver.
Their rushing attack is ranked number two in the league, with veteran Marion Barber supported by the impressive Felix Jones.
The Cowboys' defence was alos much tighter than that of their opponants on Saturday. Dallas gave up just 15.6 points per game, while Philadelphia conceded more than 21 per outing.
