The League’s worst offence and the League’s most out-of-form offence do battle on Thanksgiving Thursday as the 3-7 Oakland Raiders travel to the 7-3 Dallas Cowboys.
The Dallas attack averaged 31 points per game as they won six of their first eight, but turnovers and below par performances from quarterback Tony Romo has seen them register just a single touchdown in each of their last two games.
Injuries may hinder The Cowboys' attack this Thursday. Romo and Tight End Jeff Witton both missed practise, while star running back Marion Barber is nursing a broken thumb. Though all three are expected to feature against The Raiders, the short week may have come at a bad time for them.
The Raiders picked up a surprise 20-17 win last time out against the highly-rated Bengals, but their numbers across the season show them to be one of the NFL’s weakest sides.
First choice quarterback JaMarcus Russell is performing with a passer-rating of just 48, throwing for only two touchdowns in nine starts. Their aerial attack is supported by a moderate running game, with five scores coming terrestrially.
Back-up QB Brad Gotkowski threw for 183 yards and two touchdowns last week, and is likely to start ahead of Russell at Cowboys Stadium.
