Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar has been ruled out Thursday's Europa League clash with Belarus league leaders BATE Borisov in Minsk.
The midfielder picked up a knee injury in Saturday's victory at Portsmouth, and has been on crutches ever since.
The South African has only suffered bruising and the club hope Pienaar will only be sidelined in the short term.
Striker Louis Saha serves a one-match ban for his red card in the win over AEK Athens; defenders Johnny Heitinga and Lucas Neill are both ineligible.
