Steve Harmison has been added to England's squad for Thursday's second Test as cover for Andrew Flintoff.
Flintoff is troubled by the persistant knee injury that he had surgery on earlier this year, and will undergo a scan.
Graham Onions is retained in the squad, but Ian Bell has been released.
With paceman Brett Lee still sidelined, Australia are likely to stick with the same 11 that dominated the first Test.
