England name two spinners in their 13 man squad for Wednesday's 1st test in Cardiff. On a pitch expected to turn, Monty Panasar will challenge in-form seamer Graham Onions for one bowling spot.
Ian Bell is on standby as batting cover.
The only selection debate for the Australians will be whether to pick a specialist spinner in Nathan Hauritz.
After Hauritz returned match figures of 1-102 in two innings in the Australians' warm up game with England Lions, it is likely that all-rounders Michael Clarke and Marcus North will share the spinning duties, backing up a four-pronged pace attack.
