England look set to give a glimpse into the future when their marathon of international fixtures this summer continues with the three-match one-day series against West Indies.
No sooner has the Test campaign against the tourists finished before they start the next stage in their packed schedule with the start of the 50-overs matches at Headingley on May 21.
Their first squad together includes uncapped Middlesex batsman Eoin Morgan and a recall for Yorkshire all-rounder Tim Bresnan, who has played just one ODI in the last three years.
England have also included left-arm seamer Ryan Sidebottom, who they hope is now over his injury-plagued 2008 and can complete his first full series since last year's tour to New Zealand.
Fidel Edwards is confident West Indies can bounce back in the one-day arena against England, despite the team's shortcomings highlighted in the longest format of the game.
Edwards was named the West Indies' player of the series with seven wickets - six of which came in the first innings at Lord's.
"We've been a lot better in one-day cricket than Test cricket so hopefully we should come good in these one-day games."
