Drumbo Park an obvious choice with state of the art facilities and a mutual approach to greyhound racing

Today Bettor.com is making history with Drumbo Park by launching a Northern Irish Greyhound Derby.

Having recently unveiled its new online social betting platform and luxurious high street shop, Bettor.com is immediately acting on its pledge to support all sports and create new and exciting events for fans to enjoy.

Held at Drumbo Park, the newest greyhound stadium in the UK, with finals night to be broadcast live on Sky Sports on Saturday 25 June, 2011, Bettor.com has several plans in place for this Northern Irish Greyhound Derby.

Jayne Clarke, PR Manager at Bettor.com, says: ‘As great supporters of greyhound racing, we are absolutely thrilled to be able to make this happen and hold the Derby premier at the UK’s newest stadium. We want to create a night to remember, for all to enjoy, so we’ve teamed up with Sky to make sure that everybody gets a piece of the action and have some special activities lined up to make it a spectacular event.’

With a winning pot starting at £25,000, Bettor.com is hoping to attract a competitive line-up of dogs.

Jayne added: ‘Drumbo Park has made an extremely successful impact in Northern Ireland, so it was obvious to us that, with Neil, we could put on an exciting event for everyone. And although the winning prize is an attraction, just being a part of the first Derby of Northern Ireland will be the best prize, an opportunity not to be missed.’

Drumbo Park, which was unveiled in 2008, attracts people of all ages who enjoy the excitement of greyhound racing. Located on the outskirts of Belfast, the new stadium has been built with today’s customer in mind and has become one of the best places for a night out in Northern Ireland.

Neil Redmond, General Manager at Drumbo Park, said: “This is a great development for such a young stadium. The Northern Irish Derby will be, by far, the most prestigious greyhound meeting held here.”

The Northern Irish Derby will be a 48-dog competition, with the winning dogs’ connections rewarded with £25,000. Additional races have been introduced alongside the Derby to create a finals night with more than just one winner. These include a Sprint, Puppy, Bitches and 575 yard race, of which the first to qualify will be rewarded with £1000. A Marathon and International Classic have also been introduced and the winner will receive £2000.

Racing Manager, John Connor, says that entries will be taken from April 2011. He says, ‘We expect to see a good variety of dogs entering this event, from local dogs to some of the best of the best in the UK and ROI. There’s a great mix of races so it’s an opportunity for all owners and trainers to put their best dogs forward in each category.’

Greyhound racing has transformed from not only a sporting occasion but also a social event over the past years, with the help of Bettor.com bringing new races and competitions into the mix and Drumbo Park offering a new experience.

The trials for the Northern Irish Derby will take place on 4 June and 11 June, with the semi finals on 18 June and the finals on Saturday 25 June.

Drumbo Park provides a superior environment with luxury seating to accommodate over 300 guests, who all have a panoramic view of the action, and can order from a first class gourmet menu. The restaurant is open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday for dinner, where guests can enjoy four delicious courses with waitress service.

Jayne concludes: ‘Being as Northern Ireland has been untouched in terms of greyhound Derby’s, and as we have mutual views on the future of greyhound racing as Drumbo Park, this was an opportunity we couldn’t ignore. We hope it will to bring to fans an annual event they’ll want to enjoy for many years to come.’

Bettor.com, the new online social betting exchange, proudly announces today that it is launching a high end betting shop on the high street. The new, exclusive flagship store is the first betting outlet ever to be opened by a betting exchange.

Bettor.com, the brand new social betting exchange designed specifically for the casual bettor, was launched on Monday. Following the launch of the exchange, the shop will officially open on Friday 26th November with an event hosted by one of the world’s sporting champions.

Bettor.com’s PR Manager, Jayne Clarke, says: ‘This is a very exciting time for us. We now offer customers a brand new betting experience both online and offline. Just like with our website, we felt that on the high street there was a gap in the market to offer something different than the norm.”

Situated at 272 High Holborn, the Bettor.com store offers customers a first class betting experience. With leather seating, an extremely spacious layout, a VIP area and a superior service, the new shop provides the perfect environment for those who want to bet in style.

Jayne says: ‘We’re proud to be the first betting exchange to establish a presence on the high street because it allows us to offer our customers competitive odds and a betting environment that is truly exceptional. It offers a more personalised, first class service and a stylish and inviting environment that gives sports fans and casual bettors a more enjoyable high street betting experience. Just like on a flight you have a choice, we wanted to offer a first class betting experience rather than economy.’

Ronnie O’Sullivan, the three times world snooker champion, has been invited to launch the new shop. Not only will he be there to chat to customers and sign autographs, but he will also be taking on customers in a snooker challenge and attempting a 147. If any of the three lucky customers that are drawn from our competition this week manage to beat

Ronnie in the colours snooker challenge, they will be rewarded with £100 worth of bets.

Jayne added: ‘Looking at the research and what people want from their offline betting experience, we realised there was an opportunity for us to establish our brand on the high street. So, we are trying something new.

We have kitted out the shop with state of the art equipment and top of the range furnishings, have trained the staff to provide a first-class service and offer refreshments to all customers.’

The Bettor.com store is open from 08:00 til 22:00 from Monday to Saturday and 11:00 til 18:00 on Sunday.

Bettor.com, a new fully integrated social betting exchange, has today been launched by ibetx.

Ibetx, a major player in the betting exchange market since 2003, has decided to unveil a brand new offering to sports fans, something that will change the face of the online betting experience forever.

As part of our rebranding, the new betting exchange, specifically designed for the casual bettor, has changed from IBETX.COM to BETTOR.COM. Ibetx.com will continue to exist as our corporate site.

BETTOR.COM’s commission structure rewards sports fans and casual bettors instead of professional gamblers. When you combine your betting with the social aspect that only Bettor.com offers, you will experience something so unique, something ‘Bettor’.

Users can interact with other sports fans for insights, become a fan and follow each other. We believe casual bettors have strong opinions, which is why we provided tools for these opinions to be shared.

Our customers asked for a betting exchange that is different, user friendly, fast and fun. We listened and delivered Bettor.com.

Jayne Clarke, PR Manager at Bettor.com says, ‘Betting exchanges have come a long way over the past decade, but we felt there was little distinction between their offerings. Therefore, to provide customers with a more varied choice we realised there was a need to offer more, something different and unique.’

‘We have been working on improving our exchange by undertaking extensive market research and have tried to incorporate all the elements that bettors have suggested they would require for the ultimate betting experience.’
